Erica Bert, Quality Assurance Manager
Seeking to return to her love of all things metallic, Erica Bert joined NEE in 2017 where she oversees all Inspection and Packaging operations. She is also responsible for the management of NEE’s ISO 9001:2015 and 13485:2016 certified QMS, ensuring prompt response to Customer complaints, implementation of corrective actions, and driving company-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
Erica has a diverse educational background with over 25 years of direct quality management experience. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Chemistry, she entered the workforce as the first certified female wastewater treatment operator in the state of Rhode Island.
Erica then branched into metallurgy when she managed an A2LA accredited analytical laboratory for a gas-atomized metal powder manufacturer. During her tenure, she earned a degree in electronics engineering, a Microsoft system engineer (MCSE) certification, and secured first-time ISO 9002 certification for her company. Wanting to branch into (metal) machining, Erica joined an aerospace manufacturing facility where she earned her CQE and gained invaluable experience in lean manufacturing practices and AS9100, FAA, and NADCAP special process requirements. When that company relocated Erica joined a local PET film manufacturing company where she managed Customer complaints and played a key role in their ISO 9001 and Food Safety (FDA/AIB/BRC) compliance programs.
Erica is active in several community organizations and her downtime is occupied by family activities which include canoeing, nature walks, and weather permitting, lounging poolside with a good book.
